Kim Monroe’s Music Minute April 19

It’s hell getting older, just ask former Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx.  The bassist recently had to undergo a hip replacement surgery.  Of course Sixx who is in his 50’s started thinking that only old people had these kinds of surgery, but then he heard from fan fans in their 30’s 40’s and 50’s who have had it done and now says it was the best thing he’d ever done!  If you want to know all the details about his surgery he shared them all  on his facebook page.

Ticketmaster, the longtime nemesis of Pearl Jam appears to be making nice with the guys.  According to a report from Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, they are working with Pearl Jam’s manager Kelly Curtis and 2 other parties who were largely praised for the renovations to Madison Square Garden in New York.  If all comes together it could mean an extended residency at the Key Area for Pearl Jam, which will be known going forward as the Seattle Coliseum.  And, of course the hope remains that it will attract a major sports franchise.

Aside from just being the lead singer for Iron Maiden, which already makes him cool…recently Bruce Dickinson took care of payroll for some of the employees of Cardiff Aviation.  Apparently, some monies due to the company, that Dickinson is a board member of had not cleared in time to make payroll and since it was right before the Easter holiday, Dickinson decided to dig into his own pocket.
