Kim Monroe’s Music Minute April 7th

Guns N Roses guitarist, Slash is sharing his talents for a special benefit for the L.A. Zoo.  The 50th Anniversary Beastly Ball takes place on May 20th and also features Jack Black and Grace Potter.  There will be silent auctions and a virtual reality event that can be accessed with Google Daydream or Samsung Gear VR headset.

The social media teasing has begun!  Queens of the Stone Age will be playing a handful of festivals over the summer and it looks like a new album is close.  The band posted to all of their socials media accounts the letter “Q” which looks like a broken mirror with the words COMING TWENTYFIVE below it.  The band’s last album “Like Clockwork” came out in June of 2013.

Pearl Jam, who will officially be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight, have done a version of Brandi Carlile’s “Again Today” and took it from country to punk.  Carlile’s new album “Cover Stories:  Brandi Carlile celebrates 10 Years of The Story – An Album To Benefit War Child” will feature other artists covering her songs and available on May 5th.   In addition to Pearl Jam, artists include Adele, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, The Avett Brothers and a forward by former President Barrack Obama.

About Kim Monroe

Born in Northeast Ohio, traveled to Charlotte, NC, Seattle, Cleveland and finally back to Seattle. This is, by far, my favorite city in the US, not to mention the best people! I am a happy mother of two great kids and lots of animals! In my rare downtime, I enjoy reading and watching true crime shows, plus American Horror Story every season!
