Kim Monroe’s Music Minute February 21

Yesterday marked what would have been Kurt Cobain’s 50th birthday.  Kurt’s only child, daughter Frances Bean, posted a sweet message to her father on her Instagram account.  The message read, “today would have been your 50th birthday…you are loved and you are missed.  Thank you for giving me the gift of life.  Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.”

Apple Music’s “Carpool Karaoke” series will debut in the Spring and some of the shows highlights are already being previewed.  One of the previews features Metallica singing the Rhianna hit from 2012 “Diamonds.”  Carpool Karaoke which is featured on The Late Late Show with James Corden was picked up by Apple and turned into a series.

Former UFO and Scorpions guitarist Michael Schenker shares his feelings for brother and former bandmate Rudolph.  The younger Schenker says he taught his brother how to play and how to write songs.  Michael says that everything he did with singer Klaus Meine, Rudolph copied.  However, Michael has no ill feelings toward his older brother and is happy for all of the success he has enjoyed with Scorpions.

About Kim Monroe

Born in Northeast Ohio, traveled to Charlotte, NC, Seattle, Cleveland and finally back to Seattle. This is, by far, my favorite city in the US, not to mention the best people! I am a happy mother of two great kids and lots of animals! In my rare downtime, I enjoy reading and watching true crime shows, plus American Horror Story every season!
