Kim Monroe’s Music Minute July 11th

Last year’s Ozzfest meets Knotfest went so well, that it’s on again this year.  The festival will again take place in San Bernadino and headliners include Ozzy Osbourne and Prophets of Rage for the Ozzfest side of things, while Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson set to lead the Knotfest portion.  Absent will be part of the festival’s namesake, Slipknot, however Corey Taylor will be present performing with Stone Sour.  If you’re thinking about a roadtrip for the November 4th and 5th shows, tickets go on sale this weekend.

Speaking of festivals, Green Day took some heat after performing at Madrid’s Mad Cool festival.  The band took the stage after a short delay, only to be hit with being called insensitive.  As it turns out the delay was due to one of the between sets acrobat performers plunging to his death just before the band’s set.  Billie Joe Armstrong defended the band saying they only found out about what happened after the fact.

Although Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine was in Metallica during the period of time the band was eligible for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he was not one of the members inducted.  However, he never performed on any of the band’s albums, but Mustaine feels he’s already “in” since he was credited on some early work.  He said he would love for Megadeth to be inducted and said he will be patient and if it’s meant to be, it will happen.
