Kim Monroe’s Music Minute May 17th

Foo Fighters performed at the Acoustic 4 A Cure benefit in San Francisco over the weekend and debuted a brand new song.  There have been multiple rumors surrounding the band and possibly a new record, and if the new song, “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” is a sign, maybe there will be a new Foo’s record sooner than later.

With some big anniversaries coming up on Whitesnake albums, singer David Coverdale is busy going through the archives.  Coverdale said that they have digital transfers of many of their albums and he’s been digging up demos, alternate versions of songs and more.

A classic Iron Maiden song has been dropped from the band’s set list due to a simmering legal battle.  “Hallowed Be They Name” from the band’s 1982 album “Number of the Beast,” is the subject of a songwriting dispute.  Bassist/songwriter Steve Harris apparently entered into an agreement with one of the songwriters of band called Beckett and their song “Life’s Shadow” but not with the other songwriter.  So, until the issue is settled, Iron Maiden has opted to drop the song from the shows.
