Kim Monroe’s Music Minute May 4th

If you thought the members of GNR would be ready for a break following their “Not In This Lifetime” tour, guess again!  Word is, guitar icon Slash is working on a solo record.  According to Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti whose singer, Myles Kennedy, also sings with Slash said that Kennedy will be working with Slash in 2018.

A tweet posted by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, Chad Smith got the rumor mill fired up.  In the tweeted photo was Smith, Dave Grohl and legendary drummer Jim Keltner.  Smith said they were at EastWest Studio and referenced a Derek Smalls solo album.  If you are up on your Spinal Tap knowledge, you know that Smalls is one of the film’s characters.

With just a few days to go before Metallica kick off the North American leg of their Worldwired tour, drummer Lars Ulrich announced that he just got a new job!  Don’t worry, he will still be touring with the band, but he just landed what he referred to as “his 16 year old self’s wet dream job” his own radio show!  His show called “It’s Electric” starts this Sunday on Beats 1.
