Kim Monroe’s Music Minute November 11th and 12th

Foo Fighters are currently on the road promoting their new album “Concrete and Gold.”  During a stop in Illinois, the band began to cover the Rush classic, “Tom Sawyer.”  Even though head Foo, Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins helped to induct Rush into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, neither are bold enough to try to attack Geddy Lee’s unique vocal style, so they pulled up a fan from the audience to give it a go…

2018 will see the “Celebrating David Bowie” tour come to the United States.  The tour will feature a collection of musicians who have toured in the past with rock icon.  Longtime Bowie guitarist Earl Slick and Rolling Stones back up vocalist Bernard Fowler are just a few of the names.  The tour kicks off in February and wraps up in mid-March in Portland with a stop in Seattle on March 10th at Benaroya Hall.

For 25 years, A Perfect Circle has had a strict NO RECORDING and NO PHOTO policy.  Last weekend, at a tour stop in Reading, PA. sixty fans found out just how serious the band is about enforcing that policy…they were all ejected from the show.

About Kim Monroe

Born in Northeast Ohio, traveled to Charlotte, NC, Seattle, Cleveland and finally back to Seattle. This is, by far, my favorite city in the US, not to mention the best people! I am a happy mother of two great kids and lots of animals! In my rare downtime, I enjoy reading and watching true crime shows, plus American Horror Story every season!
