Kim Monroe’s Music Minute November 13th

Guns N Roses guitarist, Slash, appears in a new YouTube video for Gibson as the brand’s first ever Global Ambassador.  In the video, the guitarist says he is both humbled and flattered to be representing such an iconic brand.  Slash still has the Les Paul that Gibson gave him back in 1988 and shared how good it felt to play it again with the reunited Guns N Roses.

Shock Rocker Marilyn Manson is off to a bit of a rough start on his current tour.  At one of the first shows of the tour, Manson suffered a broken fibula, resulting in the cancelation of a few dates.  And, more recently, the singer has come under fire for the use of fake gun as a prop at a show in, of all places, San Bernadino and on the same day as the most recent mass casualty event in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Alice Cooper, also known as the Godfather of Shock Rock, is one of this year’s nominees to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.  Some of Cooper’s hits include “Elected” and “No More Mr. Nice Guy.”  Other nominees include John Mellencamp, Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, Tom Waits and more.

About Kim Monroe

Born in Northeast Ohio, traveled to Charlotte, NC, Seattle, Cleveland and finally back to Seattle. This is, by far, my favorite city in the US, not to mention the best people! I am a happy mother of two great kids and lots of animals! In my rare downtime, I enjoy reading and watching true crime shows, plus American Horror Story every season!
