Of the 19 nominations, only one represented “heavy metal” music. Judas Priest were nominated, for the first time, for induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame this past week, even though they have been eligible since 1999. Singer Rob Halford remarked that it is a great honor and hopes that their nomination represents a change in attitude toward the metal genre. An episode of James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” that had been temporarily shelved, will be aired. Linkin Park filmed an episode prior to Chester Bennington’s death and the band, Bennington’s family and Corden all decided to not air it until everyone felt comfortable to do so. The band posted a picture on their Instagram page letting fans know that the show will be aired next week.
While Megadeth may not make you instantly think of coffee, bassist David Ellefson has his own coffee company. Ellefson Coffee Company was formed in 2016 and some special branded roasts like “Roast In Peace” and “Kenya Trash.” The bassist has just announced a new seasonal brew “Rock N’Rose” in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
