Kim Monroe’s Music Minute September 2nd and 3rd

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons has been frustrated that they are on the road rather in their home state of Texas following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.  Gibbons spoke with Rolling Stone recently and shared info on an upcoming show that will raise $100-thousand for relief for the region.

Guns N Roses pulled out an unexpected tribute at a recent show in Canada.  The band is close to wrapping up their North American tour and while in Edmonton performed “Witchita Lineman” in honor of the late Glen Campbell.  And for good measure, they also gave a nod to the legendary James Brown.

If there is anything positive to come out of the tragic loss of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, maybe it’s that people will start talking more about depression and mental health.  Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl recently opened up about his feelings on the loss of the 2 singers.  Grohl, of course, felt the loss of suicide when Nirvana band mate Kurt Cobain died in 1994.

About Kim Monroe

Born in Northeast Ohio, traveled to Charlotte, NC, Seattle, Cleveland and finally back to Seattle. This is, by far, my favorite city in the US, not to mention the best people! I am a happy mother of two great kids and lots of animals! In my rare downtime, I enjoy reading and watching true crime shows, plus American Horror Story every season!
