Kim Monroe’s Music Minute September 12th

Wolfgang Van Halen, son of Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen posted a video over the weekend paying tribute to his dad.  Wolfgang posted a clip of him performing his father’s trademark “Eruption” guitar solo in honor of the fact that it is officially 40 years old.  He even performed it on the same “Frankenstrat” guitar that Eddie used when he recorded the original.

Valentine’s Day came and went with no word and no new record from Marilyn Manson, but finally there is news!  Manson’s 10th studio album, officially titled “Heaven Upside Down,” will be released on October 6th.  In the meantime, Manson has released a single, “WE KNOW WHERE YOU F’NG LIVE,” with a music video coming soon.  The rocker has also released some tour dates beginning in October.

Talk about a major faux pas!  As Hurricane Irma was making it’s way to Florida late last week, the Miami Marlins were in Atlanta set to take on the Braves.  In between innings, music is usually played via a predetermined playlist, but no one, especially folks on social media, thought playing Scorpions “Rock You Like A Hurricane” was a good idea.  The Braves quickly apologized for the oversite.
