Kim Monroe’s Music Minute September 14th

My first question is, why not here?  Fans in the UK will get a special treat on Friday as the new Foo Fighters record “Concrete and Gold” is released.  The band is opening a pop up pub called “The Foo Fighters Arms” and will feature the band’s very own brew.

The 40th Anniversary edition of Whitesnake’s 1987 self titled album is scheduled for an October 6th release.  In advance, the band has posted a sneak peak of one of the cuts, their mega-hit “Is This Love, The Evolutions Version.”  The song was initially intended to be a song for Tina Turner, but turned out to do quite well for Whitesnake!

As Scorpions hit the road for their North American tour tonight in Pennsylvania, the guys shared some news of an upcoming release.  In the US, the band is pretty well known for their heavy rock tunes, but they have quite a few power ballads that are huge in other parts of the world.  So, the band was approached by their record label to put together a collection, which they did and they included 2 brand new songs as well!
